The Search Engine Optimization Process

In order to provide a comprehensive solution, it is important to have an organized and detailed plan. Our ecommerce optimization services include the following services:

  1. Situational Review - Whether you building a store from scratch or migrating an existing store into our system, the situational review involves analyzing where you are currently, where you need to be, and the objectives for optimization. What are the goals of the optimization and how are we going to get you there?
  2. Budgeting - There are many factors that attribute to the cost of search engine optimization. Many of the procedures involved in search engine optimization are based on the time involved. Other elements are based on the outside market.

Some of the factors that determine the cost of your ecommerce search engine optimization include:

Do you have an existing store? Are you going to be keeping the same look and feel to you store or do you want a fresh new design? Or are you building a store from sratch?

What is the current state of your product database? Are your products organized into a useable database? Do you have product titles, descriptions, and pricing? How much work will need to be done within your product information? The state of the existing database is also important for the technical integration and import into our system.

How many products do you offer? The size of the database also determines cost. The bigger the database, the more time is spent working with the products, optimizing titles, descriptions, and other elements of the products. There is also more work in the integration of the database to the new system.

How many keywords are you trying to target? One of the main goals of optimization is to have all of your products working for you in the search engines. While individual products may be focusing on product specific keywords, your other pages of the site may focus on more broad or general keywords. The more keywords to focus on, the more work is involved.

How much competition is there for your keywords? While the competition doesn't have a great effect on the cost of keyword targeting, competition has a tremendous effect on the cost of a link popularity plan. More competitive keywords have more websites fighting for the same eyeballs at the top of the search engine. You need to get the competitive advantage by having better internal and external linking.
  3. Keyword Analysis - An in-depth keyword analysis to determine the keywords of your site to focus on. Keywords are typically determined by comparing your business objectives with the popularity of the keywords then factoring in the budget for the optimization.
  4. Optimization

Optimizing Product & Category Name - Through a specific process, we analyze and modify the product and category names to be in line with the keyword selection and to be optimized to attract the most traffic.

Page Title Optimization - Here we modify the page title based off of the individual structure of your site and keywords of the page. The title is the text that shows up in the browser heading when visiting a webpage.

Keyword and Text Frequency - We may alter the text on your website to contain the right frequency of text and keywords. Search engines search for different frequencies of keywords to determine the relevancy of a page. The ratio between the specific keyword and text is important.

Text Link Frequency & Link Frequency - We analyze and correct your text link frequency and link frequency. A text link is a standard html hyperlink that is seen on most websites. The text gives search engines certain information about the page it will be going to. Text links tell search engines that you are a good resource for the keyword that you are targeting.

Page Optimization - There are additional optimization techniques that are used on pages that we will analyze and correct where necessary. This may be the name or ALT tags of an image, the use of a header tag, or other proven techniques that will assist in making the content attractive for specified keywords. We do not use tricks, gimmicks, or questionable practices.
  5. Search Engine Submissions - Finally, after the site is completely optimized, we submit your website to all the major search engines and directories.
